    - Increase self-awareness of their own implicit biases, explicit biases, and other stereotypical behaviors that may present toxic professional and clinical issues in working relationships
    - Articulate ways in which implicit biases influence cognition
    - Learn effective tools for managing implicit and explicit biases, including improving cultural awareness

Percy Brown
Speaker
  1. Percy Brown has worked in the Community Mental Health Field for more then 10 years. Percy has worked as a Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist (TBS) for 8 years with the Hathaway-Sycamores Family Services agency.  After earning his Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy with the Specialization of African American Family Studies, Percy became employed completing his internship at the Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic.  Percy provided services with a focus on under privileged communities as a Crisis Wraparound and Full-Service Partnership (FSP) Therapist. Populations included families, and youths suffering from social, psychological, cultural, and personal barriers. After completing his internship, Percy became employed at the HealthRight360 Alcohol, Behavioral, Drug Treatment Facility in Los Angeles working with incarcerated and parolee adults. To date, Percy, a newly Licensed Therapist, has been employed at HealthRight360 Treatment Facility for 5 years with a program called “Male Community Re-entry Program (MCRP)”, providing incarcerated adults and parolees with individual therapy.

CE Certificates
Certificates will be handed out at the end of each meeting, after the presentation has concluded.  We ask that you sign-out on our Sign-In Sheets and our Program Chair person will hand you your CE certificate.

Refunds
In case you have paid but are unable to attend or plan to not attend, please contact Liron Gabbay, Board Treasurer, at (818) 208-0518.  If Liron is unable to answer your call, please leave a message and she will return your call as soon as possible.  If you have paid via PayPal, per PayPal regulations, you have 60 days from the date of payment to obtain a reimbursement, so please contact us within that time frame.  We do not offer a refund if you attend the meeting.

Course meets the qualifications for 1.5 hours of continuing education credit for LMFT’s, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

CAAMP is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for MFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and/or LEPs.  CAAMP maintains responsibility for the program/course and its content.
